Objectives of the seminar:

Recognizing the importance of disseminating information regarding the Eurocodes outside the EU, the Delegation of the European Commission to Thailand, Department of Foreign Trade/ Ministry of Commerce, The Engineering Institute of Thailand under H.M. the King’s Patronage, the Association of Siamese Architect under Royal Patronage and the Thai Concrete Association are organising a two-day seminar to explain provisions of the codes and its applications as well as to facilitate exchange of views, networking and cooperation among all stakeholders.

What is EUROCODES

The Eurocodes are a complete set of design standards that cover all principal construction materials, all major fields of structural engineering and a wide range of types of structures and products.

The Eurocodes are a major tool for the successful removal of trade barriers for construction products and services by facilitating technical and scientific collaboration. They also contribute to the safety and protection of the people in the built environment notably because they ease the cross-border harmonization of safety levels in construction. However their high flexibility offers the possibility for each country to choose the levels of safety through the Nationally Determined Parameters according to their specific parameters.

The Eurocodes serve as reference documents recognised by authorities of the Member States of the EU and the European Free Trade Association to prove compliance of buildings and civil engineering works with the Essential Requirements of the Construction Products Directive and as a basis for specifying contracts for public construction works and related engineering services and a framework for drawing up harmonised technical specifications for construction products.

The use of Eurocodes raises a presumption of conformity with the Essential requirements of the Construction Products Directive and thus will help you to have the image of a reliable and security concerned company.
